PASTORAL LETTER
To My Beloved Church Family,
As 2024 comes to a close, I take pause to reflect in light of Romans 12.1-2, and my mind muses on a question. Is my gratitude aligning my attitude so that I will give God complete latitude? A well known pastor summed up my thoughts of gratitude in the lyrics to a familiar song: “...all my words fall short, I got nothing new. How could I express all my gratitude?” However, I want to communicate my heart to you, so I must with an attitude of gratitude for the goodness of God, write down my reflection.
Thirty years ago this fall I started attending Perth Bible Church. I was an angry teenager who wanted nothing more than to escape the church and the God who they worshipped. Ironically, through the love of God displayed through the people of Perth Bible Church, God drew me to Himself. He lovingly restored my faith through ministry opportunities at Perth Bible. God stretched my faith, and used people and ministry opportunities at Perth Bible to call me into full time christian ministry. The faithfulness and goodness of God in my life is not an anomaly. In 2024, I watched men and women ask God for forgiveness of sin and declare their faith in God’s sacrifice and resurrection for salvation! God continued to stretch people in and through ministry opportunities like mission trips, teaching Sunday school, youth and children's work, music ministry, christian philanthropy, systematic discipleship opportunities, and so much more. God is only getting started, family! Remember, God brings the fruit - we only need to surrender and be a living sacrifice.
I want to take a moment and align our attitude biblically to the current situation we find ourselves in. First, we find ourselves inundated with a constant barrage of the false teaching and wickedness from the devil and the world around us. We must constantly and persistently put ourselves under the teaching and preaching of God’s word. Secondly, we find ourselves in a situation where 97% of our neighbors walk in darkness and we hold the light. Thirdly, we find a need for our church to fellowship together for the cause of Christ. Not 80% of the work done by 20% of the people. Rather, each member of the family taking responsibility for what God lays before them. God did not call us to comfort, but to sacrifice. Fourthly, there are new believers coming in need of discipleship and no one to disciple. Who will answer that call? Lastly, our community is filled with families in need and orphans. We as a church engage in christian philanthropy on a daily basis. However, we need more help.
I want to close with the word ‘latitude’. How much latitude do you give God in your life? The need in the world (Perth, Fulton County, New York State, United States, the world) is great. Our church family is not here to make you feel comfortable, alternatively, we are a hospital for the hurting to find healing and be sent out as salt and light to the world. How are you salt and light? Is Perth Bible your christian club to make you comfortable? Is your gratitude aligning your attitude so that you will give God complete latitude with your future?

OUTREACH & ASSIMILATION
Overview:
God has blessed us with an incredible property that we get to call our Church home! Here at Perth Bible Church we enjoy worshiping God through utilizing the facility, given us to by Him, to further His Kingdom in any way possible. This past year we had a steady diet of continuing outreach events that we have done before, trying new outreach events that we have never done before as well as putting some outreach events “on the shelf” to do again in future years. All of this is done in efforts to reach the community God has placed us in. Below are a few highlights of outreach events that we as a church did this past year. However, this is not the full extent of our outreach and assimilation, it is just a piece of it. Weekly our church sees new faces from all over the place that have been invited by someone in the church. There are never a lack of new friends to connect with at church!

Looking Towards Next Year:
Our plan, in 2025, is to further develop our “follow-up ministry” to help funnel new believers directly into a New Believers Bible Study that can help them learn and grow in their relationship with God as they take their next step in their Christian walk! How is God calling you to get involved with outreach in 2025? Pray about it and get involved!

ALIVE YOUTH
I believe that Youth Group is absolutely essential in the Christian walk of every teenager. It is not “babysitting” for teens, nor is it simply a “fun night” full of games and activities. It is a night where our students are challenged in their walk with Christ, exhorted to choose godly decision making, held accountable through small groups, encouraged to serve the Lord faithfully and have loads of fun while doing all of these things!
The dynamic of Youth Group has certainly shifted over the summer. There were 10 different seniors that graduated in June, 6 of which had faithfully been an influential part of the Youth Group for many years. Since then, it has been great to see new faces join us as well.
In the spring, our teens had that incredible opportunity to have several recent graduates that had been in our youth group for a while come back and share with the teens. They were asked questions from our teens in a panel discussion setting about the importance of making your faith your own in Highschool and what they personally saw as pitfalls going to college as a young Christian. The youth group was challenged to truly work on their walk as a Crhsitian while they lived in the comfort of their own homes and the safety of the church family there to help guide them back to God when they wander away. It has been great to see so many of the recent graduates of the Perth Bible Church youth group continuing to grow in their walk with the Lord as well as faithfully continuing to serve Him in the local church.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY
Our Adventure Time program has been running between about 8 and 20 students in our K-3 class and an average of 15 in our 2s and 3s! We have an excellent team of volunteers that have been working with our children each week. They are dedicated to seeing that the children are actively engaged in biblical teaching in an environment that allows for fun and growth with their peers. We are very grateful for the team that we have!
We have recently switched over to the Life.Church curriculum for our children’s ministry and in the last two months, the children and all of the volunteers have responded well to it. They are enjoying a new approach to the lessons, and they are learning/engaging well with the curriculum.
We can always use more volunteers in our children’s ministry, whether that be as a lead teacher, a helper or providing snacks for our children. If you are at all interested in joining our adventure, time team, please contact Pastor Jordan or Pastor Mark!

NURSERY MINISTRY
The nursery workers have provided a safe and loving environment for some children that struggle with separating from their parents. There is one in particular that has really warmed up to the nursery. It is very exciting to see her dancing and singing praise to God!
Answered prayers: We have dedicated nursery workers for Sunday evenings. We have had 3 new nursery workers join the nursery team! We have new bible story board books the kids enjoy reading. Blocks that we use to tell the story of the tower of babble, and a new baby Jesus toy.
Prayer requests: We are still in need of 4 Wednesday evening nursery workers. We could use some musical instruments for worship and a Noah’s ark playset.

- We have had a TV mounted in the nursery. This allows us to play Bible songs and stories that keep the children engaged. Some favorite songs that the kids enjoy dancing to are “One way, Jesus” and “This little light of mine”. Some favorite Bible stories include Daniel in the lion’s den, Adam and Eve, Creation, and the tower of babble.
- New Bible story board books have helped to build the foundational knowledge of God's word. The children have had opportunities to play out the story of the tower of babble with the new mega blocks that were donated.
- There have been opportunities in learning humility and asking for forgiveness when we hurt a friend and offering forgiveness when we have been hurt.
- We have ordered a bible curriculum for infants! This will include 13 sessions that cover the gospels and prophecy. Kid will discover that Jesus is Messiah sent from God, and Jesus has the power over everything. It also covers the Old Testament Minor Prophets and reveals God’s love for all people through the prophecies delivered by Jonah, Hahum, Obadiah, and Malachi.

MISSIONS
The Mission Team members are Chris Mayer, Team Leader/Secretary, Jean Pyzik, Linda Singer, Jay & Denise Fiet and Darby Jensen . We meet the first Tuesday of every month.
I. Mission Conference
Our annual Missions Conference,"Be The Light", was held October 13-20. Thank you to all those who helped out and hosted missionaries in your homes. Missionaries and guests who attended were Mark and Babe Smith (B.C.), Mark and Janet Case (Paraguay), Paul and Tatianna O’Bradovic (WOL), John and Linda Maynard (WOL), Audra Wood (Fresh Water Friends) and Joel and Seiko Lovestrand (Japan). The conference was well received and attended. Missionaries were featured Sunday morning and evening, Wednesday evening small groups, Friday evening fellowships in homes and Saturday night international dinner and stations.
Two of the missionary couples were able to stay on campus in the east duplex and one of the apartments. Thank you to those on the mission team who helped clean and move furniture and others who made minor repairs to the living spaces. The missionaries were very appreciative.
An honorarium was given to each missionary totaling $2,500.00. These funds came from the Mission Conference Expense account and the Missions savings account.
II. Short Term Mission Trips, Expenses
Over the summer the church hosted 2 mission trips to British Columbia July 1-12 and Ecuador July 22-August 2. From the Missions Saving Account we gave $2000 towards the B.C. trip and $1500 to the Ecuador trip.
Earlier in the year Darby Jensen took a group of men to Benin,W.Africa. in February. They laid a cement floor and put up brick walls for the Marshall's house.
Also in February, Gary and Carole Allen took a trip to Turkey to help with missionaries there. They were given $1000.00 from the missions account to help with expenses.
In April, Mark Smith requested financial assistance for a Native Mens Retreat so a group from his village could attend. We sent $1000.00 to British Columbia.
Our Missions Savings account is in good standing and as of Oct. 1 2024 there was a total of $7309.28. For Nov. 1 2024 the total is $9,362.19.
III. Missionary Support
On January 24, 2024 the church voted to support Sheryl O'bryan for $200 per month as funds became available when Mark and Babe Smith retired in Dec. 2023. The church also voted to increase the support of Marcus and Nicole Eaton from $100/mo. to $200/month.
On November 10 of this year, the church will vote to discontinue support for the Budds (Peru) due to their retirement from the field, as well as the Tepers (Argentina), effective Jan.1 2025. The Eatons are changing their ministry and Marcus is taking a youth pastorate position. The church will vote to remove their support as of December 30, 2024. Funds will be reallocated to current missionaries who have a need. A recommendation will also be made to bring on a new missionary at the beginning of 2025.
IV. Promotion and Communication
In March we began promoting and highlighting our missionaries through the Mission Moment during Sunday morning church services. Each month a different missionary is presented and prayed for and one of the weeks a video update is shared. This has become an effective way to inform our church people about the missionaries they support and to keep them in our thoughts and prayers. Many have commented on how much they enjoy this and look forward to the Mission Moment each week.
The Mission Team continues to communicate and correspond regularly with all of our missionaries through periodic email letters as well as personal notes, and the sending of birthday and anniversary cards.
It is a joy and privilege to serve on the Mission Team and to minister to our missionaries. We are always looking for more people to join our team and volunteers to help with the mission conference and other activities.

ROOTED: BIBLICAL COUNSELING MINISTRY
Perth Bible Church has always offered counseling to our local church and community, but we have made it official this year! We now have a designated counseling room, an open counseling night offered once a month, and a link on our website that directs you to our current intake forms. Our staff includes three female counselors and two male counselors. This year alone, our staff has counseled approximately 27 individuals from inside and outside our church. On November 1st and 2nd, ACBC (Association of Certified Biblical Counselors) offered a training seminar in Cooperstown, New York; we had 6+ members from Perth attend! The goal is to get as many members involved in this ministry as possible. It has been an exciting year! We can see God's hand at work as we help our fellow Christians heal and grow in their walk with Christ. We also have the opportunity to bring the gospel message to counselees we minister to who do not have a relationship with Jesus. We are thankful to those who actively participate in this ministry and all of you who pray for this vital role our church brings to the community. Our world is hurting, and we know that only Jesus and His word can bring true healing, peace, and restoration to our lives. If you are looking for counseling, or you would like to become a certified counselor please visit our page on the church website:(www.perthbible.church/biblical-counseling). "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30

RADIATE: WOMEN'S MINISTRY
We are pleased to present the Women's Ministry Report for Perth Bible Church, now known as Radiate Women’s Ministry. This report covers the activities of our women's ministry for the past year.
The women's ministry at Perth Bible Church plays a vital role in nurturing the spiritual growth, and fellowship opportunities for the women in our congregation. Our mission is to empower women to live out their faith and serve as disciples of Jesus Christ. With a new name, logo, and theme verse, we hope to unify the growing number of opportunities the women of Perth Bible Church have to Radiate Jesus through our service to others and in our mission to share hope to a lost world. (Romans 12:11-12) Here is an overview of our activities:
Bible Studies: We continue to host weekly and monthly Bible studies. These studies cover various books of the Bible, relevant topics, and provide a safe space for women to grow in their knowledge of God's Word as well as connect with one another. We offer three opportunities for ladies of all ages. The Coffee & Connection study meets every Tuesday evening at Valerie Appell’s house. Topics of study come from RightNow Media and they just finished a book study by Joanna Weaver, Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World. They are also exploring grief and joy through a side-by-side study of the books of Ruth and Philippians. The Wednesday Bible study meets in the church education wing every Wednesday evening and has been taught by Gwen VanGorder, Chris Mayer, Val Appell, and Rachel Strong on a rotating schedule. We completed a book study of Donna Partow’s Becoming a Vessel God Can Use. We also used Right Now Media resources to study the Book of Colossians. Finally, we completed a character study on the prophet Elisha and the judge, Deborah. A Ladies' Fellowship also meets on the first Thursday of the month, hosted by Kelly Dutcher, where salvation testimonies are shared. These groups are attended by ladies of a broad age range and spiritual maturity.
Events: We organized a Women's Conference in March of 2024. The Women's Conference drew in our highest numbers of approximately 240 ladies from churches in our area. Lyli Dunbar was the speaker and Hannah Kerr was the worship leader. It was a day of spiritual renewal, fellowship, and personal growth, and it received overwhelmingly positive feedback. Coming up in 2024, our church will host Sandi Patty at our next Women’s Conference.
Prayer and Support: We continued to offer prayer and support for women in need, providing a platform for sharing personal prayer requests, encouraging one another, and offering assistance when necessary. Through the new church app, women can share prayer requests and praises in a safe group space.
Looking ahead, we have the following plans for the upcoming year:
Event Calendar: We will continue to organize special events and retreats to foster community, spiritual growth, and personal development.
Leadership Development: We will invest in leadership development to equip women within our ministry to take on leadership roles and serve effectively.
The Women's Ministry at Perth Bible Church is dedicated to fostering a supportive and spiritually enriching environment for women in our congregation. We look forward to another year of growth, fellowship, and service in the name of Christ.
We would like to express our gratitude to the church leadership who have contributed to the success of the women’s ministry in 2024. Thank you for your continued support and encouragement.
In Christ's service,
Valerie Appell & Gwen VanGorder

CARE PORTAL MINISTRY
Number of families we have supported: 18 families, & two church families (4 children)
Number of children we have supported: 52 (just through CarePortal).
Number of Team Members: 19 who pray, search for donations, and deliver to families.
Counties we have supported: Fulton County, Montgomery County, Saratoga, Schenectady and Washington County
This past July marked one year since we have been a member of the CarePortal team. We have moved baby items, beds, couches, tables and chairs, hygiene and household items, food, clothing and so much more into these families' homes. We have given out Bibles, prayed with our families on their sidewalks, or in their homes, brought a few to church and continue a relationship with many of our families through this ministry.
In the course of the last several months, it was laid on Linda and Jeff Mereness to begin a clothing ministry here at church. A closet and a corner of one the classrooms holds clothing, books, household items and more. Our church families, community families and those we support through CarePortal are welcome to receive this support.
Pray God will continue to provide the resources and team members who will help go out and be a vessel in the many families that still need support through this ministry. We pray for the families we have touched, that they may continue to be searching for what God has already done in their lives and what more He can do for them.

316 Youth & Community Center
316 is continuing to grow by God's grace. This spring, summer, and fall has been a great blessing, thank the Lord. Here are a few things that have happened: About 20 kids from the youth center rode the bus to the NoSleeper in March. Since school started this year, many new students have been attending. This year we have even seen 14 different students in a single day, and new students regularly stopping in. We are averaging 5 to 8 students a day. 6 or 7 positive decisions to the gospel being shared since February. One young man named Gavin was going to 316 regularly, but has not made a decision for Christ yet.
Please pray that God will change Gavin's heart and he'll be saved. Thanks for the support and all Glory to the Lord for what he is doing!
Recently, on November 6th, Isaiah had the opportunity to be interviewed about 316 by K-LOVE Radio's "Closer Look" Program. The interview can be listened to here!

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
Operation Christmas Child has a renewed spirit here at Perth with reintroduction of all of the possibilities this ministry has to offer. Throughout the year, we have been sharing little nuggets of information, sharing on social media and through word of mouth these opportunities of Perth Bible church being a part of spreading the gospel of Jesus to the “ends of earth.”
In July, we celebrated a Christmas in July Sunday where members had the opportunity to sign up for items they’d like to bring in to help fill shoeboxes as a church event.
On November 1st, we had a family-style packing party, celebrating this ministry with a pizza party and then packing shoeboxes with all of the items that have been donated. We packed 105 boxes just in this night!!
Perth Bible Church was a drop-off site this year 11/18 to 11/25. We were open at specific times each day for our own boxes to be processed as well as any boxes coming in from neighboring churches, organizations or families. We closed out the week with a total of 824 boxes! We had 14 total volunteers, averaging 3-4 volunteers each day here , plus movers of the cartons on 11/24 to the shipping center in Malta, NY.
Please pray for this ministry in the church, that it is the will of God we serve in this way. God knows already where our filled boxes will ultimately go. May we have hope and faith our boxes are well received and touch the lives of children, that may know they matter, Jesus loves them and so do we.
