What is Celebrate Recovery?

Celebrate Recovery is a Christian based 12-step program, providing a safe and caring community for people to find freedom from issues that can control our lives.  Issues like addiction, codependency, eating disorders, anxiety, and PTSD by building a firm relationship with Jesus Christ.
We undergo 8 principals, taking people on journeys to find freedom of life's hurts, habits, and hangups.  These 8 principles are based on "the Beatitudes" that Jesus taught during his powerful message, "Sermon on the Mount" that define character and mindsets of the citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven.
Each week we alternate from teaching lessons on denial, hope, sanity and other things that contribute to recovery.  We'll listen to testimonies from people that have found success by letting go of their past hurts, habits, and hangups, by giving the power to the only One who can help us overcome these obstacles, Jesus Christ.
Here you will find a safe community of people who want to see you succeed!

Meet the team.

From the Front Lines to the Foot of the Cross
I have fought two distinct wars in my life. The first was fought in the boots of a U.S. Army Infantryman in Iraq, serving my country. The second was fought on the streets back home, where I traded my uniform for a destructive cycle of alcohol addiction, hustling, and jail cells. I have been shot twice—once in the military and once on the streets of Houston. For years, I was what society labels "detestable"—the kind of person people look past or give up on.
But God does not see as man sees. The Turning Point
There were many times death should have taken me, but God kept calling until I finally heard Him. After a sudden attempt to quit drinking on my own, my organs shut down, leaving me in a coma for a month. During this season, I was also fighting a legal battle for my children. By God’s sovereign grace, I was able to rescue them from a destructive environment. In the heat of that battle, I realized I couldn't do it alone. Jesus Christ met me in my brokenness, offered me mercy through His blood, and gave me a salvation I could never earn. He took a man from a cell and brought him into His Kingdom.
A New Mission
Today, my life is unrecognizable. Instead of the streets, I live and work on the campus of Perth Bible Church. My "hustle" has been replaced by a holy calling:
• Education: I am completing my BS in Theology at Liberty University, transitioning into an expedited Master of Divinity (MDiv) program.
• Ministry: I lead Celebrate Recovery (CR)—the ministry that pointed me back to Jesus and quite literally saved my life.
• Leadership: I coordinate a Veteran Support Bible Study, teach Sunday School, and have begun writing and preaching sermons.
All Glory to Christ
I am a living witness that no one is too far gone for the Gospel. Whether I am in a classroom or behind a pulpit, I remember where I came from. Every victory for my family and every day of sobriety has one purpose: to give all the glory to Jesus Christ.
